Planty is an unique city park, which surrounds the oldest part of Cracow. It is 20 ha area and has 4 km of the circumference.
It is divided on 8 gardens, named by the nearest objects. Planty never sleeps. The are lot of recesses, alleys and little fountains and monuments, where you can rest far away from regular tumult. During the War World II Planty was completely devastated. Their renovation started in 1989 and last till today. Unfortunately you need to b every careful walking there between 7.00 and 8.00 p.m. due to lot of birds on the trees. It is very difficult to frighten them off and it is one of the main problem of the Cracow’s government and environment defenders.
