The Barbakan is called also a saucepan. It is a part of Cracow\\\'s fortifications, build in 1498/9 year. Its inside is 24,40 meters in diameter and the thickness - more then 3 meters. It is a Gothic building with 7 towers. It used to be joined with the Florianska Gate by so-called neck. The main task was to protect the city. |

The Mateczny Spa is situated next to the Mateczny traffic circle. The location is not very well, but the spa is the separate object of peace and green with lot of bushes, flowers and trees. In 1903, according to an Austrian government decision, Cracow was made the protected region of water spring in Podgorze. Two years later Antoni Mateczny build in his own plot the general bath institute of sulfur and mineral salts water. |

 A gothic church on Mariacki place with a beautiful sculpture in the entrance to the building. Inside there is the miraculous picture of Saint Mary Jugowicka. Under the church Jakub Wujek – the first translator of the Bible, is burned. In there sermons were preaching in German. |

The ghetto was found in 1941 by Nazi. There were 18-25 000 of people lived there. The ghetto’s area was surrounded by a wall with 4 gates. The main gate was situated near the Podgorze’s Market. There was also the tram which goes through the ghetto without any stops. |

The Holy Trinity’s church had been a parish church. In 1222, when Cracow’s bishop Iwo Odrowaz move Dominican into the city, the parish was moved to the Main Market – to Saint Mary’s Church. |

The slogan ARBEIT MACHT FREI over the gate translates as "Work (shall) make (you) free" (or "work liberates"). Auschwitz is the name used to identify three main Nazi German concentration camps and 45-50 sub-camps. It’s situated about 60 km southwest of Cracow. Beginning in 1940, Nazi Germany built several concentration camps and an extremination camps in the area, which at the time had been annexed by Nazi Germany. The camps were a major constituent of the Holocaust.

The park’s founder – Wojciech Bednarski, was a councilor, who was very keen on Podgorze. When this district was put into the Cracow’s border he demonstrated his dissatisfaction by walking to Cracow’s side of to the half of the bridge. |

This church delights everyone by its beauty by the time you step into it. The wall’s decoration made by Stanislaw Wyspianski is very unique. Stained glasses made also by him are even more incredible. The most famous is “The God Father” stained glass. |
